I don't have a smart board but I rented a projector from the library and hooked a computer up to it and play just dance kids. I also have the students dance in the morning before the bell on big test days. We call it a mini dance party to get their blood flowing.

Just as a opposite idea. I have my kids balance on one foot for as long as they can (which isn't all that long). It is completely quiet, they are totally concentrating on the task, and I'm sure it has some beneficial brain/body actions. I do different variations to keep it fresh.

I do Brain Dance every day. It is well liked and helps get the children up and moving. I find with first graders freeze dance is well loved. Singing songs is well loved too. So are little skits or being statues/little actions to express what we have been studying.
