Teacher called me 11 days after I subbed her class...

...to ask specific questions about one period of the day. I left her a note, mentioning a few students who were throwing paper. She calls me AFTER Thanksgiving break to ask for more details, because some of the boys said it wasn't them, that it was other kids throwing papers.

Honestly, I don't remember, that is why I wrote a note.

How many of you could remember something about one period that you subbed for 11 days ago?

No way! I would have difficulty giving specifics from yesterday.

That is one reason I prefer sending an e-mail to the teacher rather than leaving a note or attempting to fill out one of the ridiculous forms that some schools use. The e-mail gives me a record of what I told the teacher if an issue comes up.

Unless some kid threw a desk, threatened bodily harm, or puked on my shoes, the odds are I wouldn't remember nearly two weeks later. And unless its a group of kids I see ALL THE TIME, no way am I going to remember names.

How in the hell are you supposed to remember? And why did she wait so long?

Not a chance - it's much too long ago to expect you to remember details.

If it was memorable, I might remember TBH.

Just as an exercise, 11 days ago (looked it up in my calendar) I was in an elementary school Learning Center (of a school I'm rarely at). I can recall faces right now... I can't recall any names off-hand, but I think I remember quite a bit about that day.

The fact that you don't remember though, is not your problem. I hope you're not fretting about it.

Haha, I actually could remember! I have a great memory for names and faces.

...it also helps that I keep notes about my day for documentation/pay issues. Shhh, don't tell.
