Thanksgiving break

When does your break start? We used to have a half-day on Wednesday, but not anymore. We only have off on Thursday and Friday. It makes me so mad! Our goal is to be on the road for our 3-hour drive by 6:00 Wednesday night.

Wow... I have this whole week off, and am so thankful. I feel like I absolutely need this mental health rest break. It's been a grueling 1st trimester... my 1st year no less! I've been able to catch up on my sleep and just not stressing out over parent conferences, grades and lesson plans... at least... until Friday or Saturday when I have to start planning for next week :P

Our break starts today, and we go back on Monday. Today is a furlough day for us.

A lot of districts in this area have the whole week off. We started the break today. I don't think it's effective anyway to have such a short week, I know attendance was down, plus you don't want to start new material for 2 days, it ends up review days for many teachers.

We used to have the entire week off, then we had professional days on Monday and Tuesday. Now we have a full student day Monday, half day on Tuesday with a professional day in the afternoon on Tuesday. I doubt we'll have Wednesday off much longer.

Today was our first day of break. Some years we get Wednesday off and some years we don't. This year our family dinner is on Saturday, so it doesn't matter too much. One year I tried to do my 8-hour drive after school on Wednesday...
