Low priced place for school furniture?

I need to buy a couple kindergarten sized tables, chairs, and art easels. What places are well priced for these items? I have looked for places that sell used but haven't found any. I'm in Los Angeles. Is Lakeshore pretty fairly priced? I don't want to buy super cheap because I want it to last for more than a couple years but also want to spend as little as possible as well.

I found that the best thing to do is compare the prices yourself, because they change so often. Also, be aware that shipping on the furniture will be crazy high. It's sometimes worthwhile to buy slightly more expensive furniture and get the cheaper shipping, the difference is amazing!

I'm beginning to explore the world of used classroom furniture, as we're needing quite a bit at the moment.

Check with local districts-one that I work with closely just brought a moving van full of great chairs, desks, tables, cubbies, etc. to the dump. So, so sad. We took what we could, but just couldn't save it all. And def. check Craigslist. I see lots of furniture in our area from closing daycares.

Lakeshore Outlets have decent priced furniture you can just pick up on site, if you have one by you. Also try garage sales and freecycle-people buy items for their kids' play rooms and then sell or give them away.

Good luck!

This appears to be close to Los Angelos-I don't know the area that well.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I got Melissa and Doug art easels for a good price on Amazon. I don't know how good they are yet, as I can't get into my classroom to start opening all my deliveries. (The people with the keys are out on vacation, and since I'm new, I haven't received keys yet)

I found a site (Flex-A-Chart) that has kid furniture called Brite Kids. There are tables, chairs, book storage, and more all available in bright colors of red, blue, and green. This looks like good quality and safe for kids- not dirt cheap but they offer free shipping.

IKEA sells child-sized easels for $15

I second checking Craigslist and Freecycle. I've found some really great stuff on both sites.
