Moore, OK. 9th-10th grade Science
First Post.
After skipping around doing all sorts of things (oilfield (roughneck, drilling fluids engineer), USN (crypto), technical writer (Hewlett Packard), etc...) I finally settled into teaching. I've been teaching Science for 6 years and love it. I think I was running away from it as 3 of my grandparents, both my parents, tons of uncles and aunts as well as one of my sisters have been and are teachers. It's probably one of those things that's just in my blood.
I'm signing up for this forum for an entirelly selfish reason. I need feedback / suggestions on a classroom website I'm putting together. I'm planning on combining several different elements into a new teaching strategy starting in 2013-2014 (flipped classroom, innovative spaces, classroom blogging, and a few others). However, I'll be encorporating several of those ideas in the upcoming year. One of whcih will be the classroom website.
That said I tend to post quite a bit in forums (and tend to be wordy) and I suspect this site will be no different.
Long story short, Heyya from Moore OK. Home of the highest recorded wind speed ever on Spaceship Earth (318 mph / 512 km/h), and my science class.
