Rica video performing assessment?
I have the choice of taking the regular RICA or the video performing assessment version. Did anyone take the video version? Did you pass?
It seems like it would be a lot easier than taking a 4 hour grueling test... Thoughts?

My credential program required us to practice the rica video assessment just in case we chose to do it. Their position was that so many students have trouble passing the written test they should prep us for both options.
If you had a good reading class in your program, you are probably well prepared for either option. The trick is to take the rica right after you finish your prep class so the information is fresh.

Not enough people have taken the video version of the revised RICA - that is, the RICA as of 2009 - for the CTC to be able to post reliable statistics on passing rates. Statistics from previous years showed pretty dismal passing rates for the video version, though it's rumored that the current video version was specifically designed to address some of the reasons why.
