High school.
2.) How long have you been a teacher?
7 years
3.) What are your official contract hours? (For example: 7:15-3:15)
8:10-3:45
4.) When do you arrive at school?
7:45
5.) When do you leave school?
On a "normal" day? 4:00. On a drama day (almost everyday)? 6:30 or later.
6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends?
3-4 hours, plus some during the week after drama. Of course, that's not counting time at drama tournaments, weekend play practice, shopping for supplies for drama or my film class, etc.
Thanks!

1.) What do you teach? (Elementary, Middle School or High School) Kindergarten
2.) How long have you been a teacher? 11 years
3.) What are your official contract hours? (For example: 7:15-3:15) 7:40-3:30
4.) When do you arrive at school? between 7:00-7:20, depending oh how slow my turtle (DS) is moving. He is soo not a morning person.
5.) When do you leave school? after 5p.m. but I tutor from 3:30-5:00 M-R.
6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends? Planning: none. My sanity requires that my lesson plans & copies are done for the next week before I leave on Friday. Depending on what my week looks like I may bring planning/grading home during the week. I can spend 2-3hours during the week planning/grading at home. I do a working lunch. I spend every minute at school working. I do wonder sometimes if I should go eat with the others in the teachers lounge though.

1.) What do you teach? (Elementary, Middle School or High School) Middle and High School
2.) How long have you been a teacher? This is my first year!
3.) What are your official contract hours? (For example: 7:15-3:15) 7:30-3:05 (school hours are 8-2:35)
4.) When do you arrive at school? Usually about 7:25-7:30, I'm just so NOT a morning person!
5.) When do you leave school? It depends on the day. Some days I'm out of there right at 3:05, other days I stay until 5:30 or later. Sometimes the newer teachers will all go out to dinner so we'll stay later and grade and work. That's about one day a week though. I would say normally I'm out of there anytime between 3:15-4
6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends? Sunday nights I usually type up all of my lesson plans so I work for 1-2 hours.
I will say this is skewed even as a new teacher because I have 80 minutes of prep a day and I really make the most of that!

4.) When do you arrive at school? Usually about 8:00
5.) When do you leave school? On most days, I'm there until 6:00 or 6:30, but I don't do anything at home during the week.
6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends? Planning, grading, committee work probably averages between 4 and 6 hours per weekend.
Thanks!

If I would quit changing grades every 3 or 4 years, I would probably be able to cut back on the hours, but I like the change.

Elementary special ed
2.) How long have you been a teacher?
2 years
3.) What are your official contract hours? (For example: 7:15-3:15)
8-4, kids attend 8:30-4:00.
4.) When do you arrive at school?
8-not a morning person so I don't get there until I have to. 1 day a week I have to arrive at 6:30 for PD and another day of the week I have to arrive at 7:00 for data team or staff meeting.
5.) When do you leave school?
I try my hardest to get out by 5. Unless there's some activity going on, I typically don't leave any later than 5:30. The earliest I leave is about 4:30.
6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends?
I've gotten way better at this. It really depends on the week and how much I have to do. This weekend probably 3 hours total. Some weekends I just have to spend about 20-30 minutes catching up on e-mails. Due to the nature of my job, things are always changing and I can't plan way ahead over the summer-otherwise I would do that.
Thanks!

These are my answers for this year, it was much more time in the past and definitely before I had a baby. I learned to streamline my plans and time use when I started grad school and got pregnant.

6.) How much planning time do you spend on the weekends? I might spend a few hours at some point, but I am more likely to stay late one night during the week or work after DH goes to bed for a few hours if I really need to.
Thanks!
