I'm going to be doing a lit circle with a group of reluctant sophomore readers. I am hoping that the lit circle will encourage them to take more ownership of the project and encourage responsibility as well as finding them something they may enjoy reading. I'm having trouble coming up with the books, however. Right now I am including Twisted, Tears of a Tiger, and Thirteen Reasons Why. I want to use a fourth book to keep the group sizes smaller but am struggling to come up with an idea. I read Tangerine in the hopes that it would work but I don't think it's quite right for the kids I have. Any ideas?
