I was wondering where to find words for my wall for my class.
I having looking and either can not find anything
or when I do it is out of print.

I made some last year but only five for the weather: sunny with sun
shine, snowy with snow, etc but I could not make all of these and find pictures. My kids really loved them and learned to spell and associate the picture with the words.

I was thinking about several: animal-have the word and a picture of that animal, foods, clothing, transportation, etc.

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Are you asking about where to find the display of the letters to put on the word wall or the actual words that go on the word wall? Here is a link to my word wall page with detailed info about word walls. For the letter display w/matching pictures I use the Manuscript Photo Display by Trend- although that's not what's pictured on my page- that's an old picture. I make all the words (both sight and vocabulary), environmental print, and kids names that go on the wall by typing them in Word using Comic Sans at 160 or larger. I then print the words on my printer, cut them out, glue them to construction paper to give them a border, then laminate. If it's a vocabulary word or environmental print I add pictures using Microsoft clipart or Google Images. If it's a student's name I use digital pics of the kids and insert them in the document. Does that help? I hope that was what you were looking for...

I was actually looking for ones already done if they exist.
Like: Dog and then have a picture of a dog same with Cat and picture of a cat....possibly on heavy card stock - landscape.

I am probably asking a lot but this is the idea I have in my head.

I really did not want to make them myself bu if I have to I will.

I guess I am looking for more sight words.

I found an example on a website that I can not find anymore.

They had the word Panda and a picture of a Panda on the other side
like on a sentence strip but it was really wide. It did not look hand made but it could have been.

If I can not find what I am looking for I should start now making my own.

The only thing I can think of that is pre-made that sounds like what you are looking for are photo flashcards by trend, however they are in portrait and not landscape. It's really super easy to make your own and you will get exactly what you want that way. If you need help just let me know.

Thanks....I guess I will get started now.

I will make a list of words first then look for clip art.
I think finding the clip art will be the hardest to do.

www should be words that a common sight words seen often in reading and used often in writing. Also it should have words that you notice your particular kids need while reading and writing.

That is one reason the pre-fab www aren't great. Because while we can all agree on some words that should be on the www, there is always disagreement. And it also has alot to do with your grade level.

Check this link. It's one of the vocabulary card packs from Trend. It may be what you are looking for.

I make my wordwall cards on sentence strips then add a picture from clip art. I print the picture on copy paper then cut it and glue on the sentence strip.

    To Vanna,
Thanks for the link to the Trend Picture cards. I've been making my own with clip art, but I actually like the picture cards better.
