Some of the lowest paid teachers in the country are now in the eighth day of striking. Each teacher will lose 8 days of pay.

There's a go-fund-me strike fund that is trying to raise $50,000 to help out. So far it's over a quarter million. If you'd like to contribute even a dollar, it would boost morale to know so many support them.

Will they necessarily, though? Some, or most, of them will be made up at the end of the year...

The articles I saw said that teachers were still being paid. The days will be made up.

I read the same - that they're getting paid. Even read a quote from a teacher saying she wasn't worried about her paycheck. She'll just have to make it up at the end of the year. They're using snow days now.

There are 57 school districts in West Virginia. Each superintendent can decide whether or not to use snow days. Many have already used weather delay days and have none left.

Why not just buy cup of coffee for a teacher by putting $3 into the strike fund?
