I've had two interviews in the past week and they were both very short! One was with a school that is not known for being great, and they even told me they were desperate. They offered me the job but I didn't take it. This job was about five minutes including questions I had.

The other interview was with a better school, and lasted about ten minutes including my questions. It was at the very end of the day though, so I'm not sure if they were rushing it along...

I'm not great at gauging whether or not they like me, but these short interviews are kind of discouraging (especially since they were both over an hour drive away). Is there probably something I'm doing wrong, or is it just a coincidence?

I'm not understanding why you feel that an interview that ended with a job offer was "discouraging".

Our interviews are usually 15 to 20 minutes, if that.

They might call you back for a 2nd interview since the first was so short. Sometimes they do quick screenings.

Generally, short interviews are a bad sign.
