I found a good link with information about different theorists that I believe will be helpful studying for these tests.

    http://www.uen.org/Lessonplan/preview.cgi?LPid=4411

Some of the documents are quizzes and study guides. Other documents are brief bios and outlines of the basic teaching of each Developmental Theorist.

Not a substitute for *real* education classes, but kind of a Cliff Notes version for review or for alternative candidates.

    Best to you.

you can see all the pages a visitor looks at when browsing the visitors and clicking the look for the last page and thats the last page they browsed, is that what you mean?

How close is your score to passing?

Your score reports should indicate the domains (subject areas) in which you're coming up short. What are you seeing?

I have scored 217 twice 214 and now I'm at 204. It's usually the Science and Technology section I do poorly in but this time it was Social Studies. Have you heard of Certed courses? Is the MST Multi-Subject Test the same as CST Content Specialty Test? Has anyone here taken this online course?
    Thanks

    Hello everyone,

I have taken the CST multi 3 times and failed. I am taking it again on December 12, 2009. I bought the NYSCT book and memorized the practice test, so that isn't helpful to me anymnore. The practice guide on their website was useful but there are only 36 questions.

I have done the flash cards, read the book (which doesn't even have anything on social studies). Art has kicked my butt.

If I do not pass the test I will get kicked out of the NYC Teaching Fellows program.

Through this site I read that the cliff notes book and XAM CST Multisubjects book are helpful. Can anyone give me some advise on how to study or what material to study from.

    Thank you.

If you're asking whether the Useful Web sites thread can help with tests other than CSET, the answer is yes, though you may need to be a bit creative in applying it.

If you're asking whether someone who does test preparation in California can help you in New York, the answer is that it's quite likely (though it depends on the person who does test preparation and also on the willingness of both of you to work via technology rather than face to face - I strongly prefer face to face but have taught by email).

December 12? You've got some time in hand, then: good.

How are you doing on the constructed response task (or tasks: I can't remember how many of those CST poses)?

the CST only has one essay to complete. I've done fine in them. The practice test they have on their website is helpful and has helped me pass with the key words they use.

How fine is "fine"? Often it's possible to squeeze a few more points out.

The key-words strategy is useful not just in the constructed response but also with the multiple choice questions. Use the practice test as a source of terms to go look up on the Internet (my favorite tool for this is Answers.com). Make sure you know what each is - not just the definition of it, but also how it connects to the field and to other terms.

Do you generally have trouble with multiple choice questions in other tests?

Only on standarized tests like this one. I went through this in FL when I was taking the FTCE but I passed it at the third tried. I guess it's the pressure of it that gets me crazy. This time around I will take my time and go in as free as possible. I can't stress my self.

Moniffahh I am on the same boat. I take the test on December 12. I am wondering if you already passed the test since you last were here in October. Any tips? I hope you passed the test if you took it. What have you been studying from? I have taken the test 3 times as well my score keeps going up but it isn't enough to passing.

    Subtest III

Is there anyone who could help me with Subtest III-Multiple Subjects. I will be taking this subtest on March 13. I only have 2 weeks to review. Is there any website for visual and performing arts portion. I did take the practice test in the CSET website and I scored poorly.

    Please help...

    Thanks,
