I have a dilemma. We have a conference 12 hours from where I leave. We don't have funding so we have to pay some if the costs. My school is mostly flying, but that's an additional cost. My husbands school is driving. I would be stuck in a van with teachers I don't know. My husband is driving, so might get stuck in the back alone. I feel like I'm over thinking this and a ting silly. I'm try thinking of staying home. I truly feel uncomfortable around those other women. Two which had a crush on my husband.

What do you guys think? Flying cost more but it's still an option. I just hate flying with out my husband.

If your husband is driving, I would just take dips on the front seat so that you are near him. Maybe you and your husband could take turns driving.

12 hours in a van full of teachers? Personally, I wouldn't go.

My husband and I would either drive separately, with a couple of friends we know from work, or fly together.

I doubt I would do it... TWELVE hours? Why on earth is this a requirement?

Twelve hours in a van? With people I don't know? Nope...I'll pass!

I've spent longer than that in buses with no one I know.

I'd do it. Bring a book and mp3 with headphones.

Sometimes I'd rather be in a van with strangers than with people I know. Take some headphones and go on the van.

I can't stand to be in a car more than 4 hours, so I'd say flying. Choose what works best for you and makes you the most comfortable when you've weighed all the options. Don't forget the music, Nook, and headphones whatever you choose!

Pretend you're a deaf mute with social phobia and you will be fine.

Thank you all. I decided to go. My husband was starting to back down from going if I didn't go. I felt bad, he has done all the arrangements for us. I've decided to take an extra pair of headphones just in case. I'll let you all know how it goes! We don't go until April.

If your husband is driving, I think you get shotgun by default.

I would definitely hitch a ride in a van that's already going where you want to go! I'm assuming that would save you travel costs. You do seem shy about traveling with strangers, but they aren't strangers to your husband. You may find a friend in the van. Take the book and headphones.
Also, if I thought 2 of my hubby's coworkers had a crush on him, you better believe I'd be in that van. I'd be SO charming!

For long road trips I usually have my nook, my music and 2 pillows for a great nap!

Have fun when you go! Don't forget, you get the front seat!

Oh, yeah, it'd be a shame to pass up the ride. And your hubby's going to be the driver. You won't need anybody else.
