Next year, I am teaching fifth grade Gifted and will have trapezoid tables in an average-sized portable. I have thought about putting together four tables into a square shape with eight sitting at each group. There would be a "hole" in the middle of the four tables with room to put a large piece of wood as a middle piece or a set of drawers (though they'd have to reach to get in). Any other ideas? I've never dealt with multitudes of trapezoid tables before... I've always had desks. It seems like it'll work, though. Thanks! :)

I had these once. If you flip-then-flop them, they'll form a line. Three lines and you can make a single big hollow square, which is what I like. All in all, though, gimme those little rectangular desks. Inkwells might be cool too.

Some of our k teachers have them and put the long sides together and seat 6 at a table with supplies in the middle.

I was thinking of the line of desks as a second option. I've been sketching out some thoughts... :)

I like your idea to put wood over it. Losing pencils in the middle would be a hassle. I always put two traps into a hexagon. Sounds like a great position for you. Enjoy the summer!

I'd go with hexagon or line...the square idea seems big and bulky.:2cents:

I'll see what works out, when the time officially comes! :)
