First off, yes, my job offer still stands. I called HR today and a nice lady on the phone told me I'm in the final steps. My background check was started on Thursday of last week, but I still don't have a contract, only a verbal offer.

Today my current P called me. She was very kind about it, but told me she needed and answer before 5:00 today. Apparently the super is needing to release my position immediately.

I had hardly any time to think, but I decided to go in tomorrow morning and hand in my resignation before packing my classroom. Talk about a leap of faith! I don't know when my new contract will be ready, I'm hoping this week. Needless to say, I'm scared to death.

But I feel in my heart I did the right thing. Another year at my school was going to "do me in," I'm in desperate need of change. Please no "what if's" right now - I'm well aware of the possible consequences :(

Wish me luck tomorrow, I'll be feeling very low, I'm sure.

Pisces~First off :hugs: change of any kind is hard to deal with, especially if you aren't exactly sure of it. It is a leap of faith, but one that will work out because you will be signing that contract before you know it!

You just have to think positive now! All my decisions that were based on feelings, gut-instincts and leap of faith (of course, based up by logic :) ), turned out to be great decisions.

:hugs::hugs: I can only imagine how you must feel. First off I hate change, but to not know its hard. Thoughts and prayers are with you. I think you made the best decision, every step is its own blessing.

Hugs to you. Change is sometimes very necessary. I am sure it will all work out, even if it feels a little scary right now. You'll be fine.

If you were given an offer, you should be fine. I started my job in February after the old teacher decided to change jobs. I started a week after my interview. I actually started before I even got a contract or was approved by the board. I think it would be very rare for something to happen after you've been offered the job.

You're going to be fine! Plenty of us have had to make that leap of faith with jobs, and it works out. I love Diznee's dad's quote. :)

    :hugs:
