I'm teaching second grade and social studies for our class this year is themed around community. I want to do a read aloud that introduces the unit to the students so I need help finding a good book that really talks about community. This first trimester is focused mostly on the community of the school, then we will move on to the local neighborhood, and then to the community of the county. I want to find something that will help me introduce the idea of the school as a community but the only things that I can find about school is related to the first days of school. This doesn't seem applicable since we are in weeks five or six. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I am not sure about read alouds for school community but there are some really good ones out there for neighborhood communities. Here are the ones I can think of right now:
    Everyone Cooks Rice
    Me on the Map
Everyone Cooks Pasta (I THINK that's the name of it)
    Community Helpers
