I teach an art pullout that is brand new to the district. The teachers are having a difficult time adjusting to the situation, mostly grumbling about their own planning time being affected if their class misses art due to a holiday or assembly or fire drill, but that's beyond my power.
Anyway, despite ten years of experience as a primary teacher before taking this specialty, I'm having a difficult time with them respecting me as a teacher. They seem to view me as a sub who simply takes over for them for a short time.
A few basically want me to install their classroom management systems instead of my own. There is no way I'm adopting 25 different teachers' strategies to cater to each individual class.
    It's really irritating.

I agree with you. You shouldn’t have to adopt that many different strategies as it would be difficult to remember them all. I would tactfully indicate as such, but also say that you will do your best not to deviate from expected norms.

    Good luck.

What do you mean by pull-out? Do you go into their classrooms once a week or so and the teacher leaves?

I also agree with the statement below.

That sounds like push-in. Pull-out is more when students are taken out of class. Not sure what the OP means.

She said Art but I'm just not getting the "pull-out" part.
