Grade 3, 22 students, 30 minute lesson. They said any topic I wanted. It is an advanced group of learners and I need too have a high level of differentiation. I'm so torn on what to do!

Science and Soc. Studies are always good because you can do a short, fun, and interesting lesson. Also, in many schools these subjects aren't taught as often so the kids love it when they are. Check the state standards and pick out something that interests you, the more into it that you are, the better the lesson will be!

I was thinking science or social studies. Maybe something with Native Americans...

Last year we talked about a specific tribe in CA. We discussed their housing, what they ate, what they wore, etc. I then broke them into groups and they each got one of those topics to illustrate. We then turned their pictures and the information from our book into a class book.
