I found out that I will be subbing for a teacher who has a student teacher. This student teacher is on his own, now, so I just have to be the "certified body" in the room.

Question -- how do I handle classroom management? Do I let the student teacher handle any issues? When I had a sub when my mentor was out, the sub let me handle things on my own. What is the best way to handle behavioral issues in this instance?

For anything minor I would let the student teacher handle it. If something happens that endangers students, destructive behavior, etc. I would step in as sub.

I would also talk with the student teacher before class starts and find out what their expectations are.

Yeah, it's the student teacher's classroom this late in the game. Talk to the intern and find out what her expectations are and what support she is expecting. Only interfere if you think someone is about to get hurt or you'll look bad.
