I'm feeling frustrated. Our CAT time, which in years' past was always run rather smoothly, is in different hands this year. I feel it's almost impossible to get help. I have been suggested to cull much of my list of students I would really like to take due to the difficulty of scheduling them in, and the two students I've managed to get through have no follow-up meetings. I think the teachers in this team are trying their best, but really don't know what they're supposed to be doing. What's frustrating is going through CAT is part of the process of teacher-referred testing. Which I respect, except for the fact I forsee getting to the end of the year with the process for many of my troublesome students incomplete. And what am I supposed to do with them in the meantime? Three of my students are now so far beyond grade-level (due to either suspect or actually revealed learning disabilities), have no IEPs, and I'm running on fumes of how to differentiate for them. All three would literally sing and roll on the floor all day if myself or the TA wasn't sitting beside them.
