I'm on a school committee and I need to come up with some quick games for our staff meetings...At our last staff meeting we put stickers on the bottom of some chairs and we gave out candy bars to those who sat in the chairs.

I'm at a loss and I thought I wouuld ask here.. Does anyone have any ideas? Have you ever played any type games at your staff meeting?? Since we're close to halloween, I would love to have a themed game next week.

    Thanks!! :)

Wow, it would never occur to me to have games at staff meetings. Sorry, I haven't got a clue.

I am not fond of having games at staff meetings, but one year, right before Thanksgiving, our principal made paper turkeys strung on a piece of yarn for each person. We then put them on so they hung in the back and for about 10 minutes, everyone wrote something on each other's turkeys-saying something nice about that person. It really was fun because you didn't know who wrote what and it was nice to read the compliments. You didn't have to write on everyones and it was a pleasant morale booster. You could do it with pumpkins or ghosts.

    Have ribbons and straight pins

Each person says something nice about the person next to them and pins a ribbon on them

I don't know if this is really a game, but my school does an Apple Award every time we have a staff meeting. The principal picked the first recipient, and since then, the recipient picks someone who they think has done something good or noteworthy. They just say a few words about that person, then present this apple thing to sit on a desk. I got it last time-it was really exciting, and I truly had no idea it was coming!

Best meetings are short meaningful meetings.
Forget games and keep the meetings succinct.

That's how I see it. Play "How fast can we get through all the important stuff and get out of here??" :)

It wasn't my decision to have a game.. I'm just supposed to come up with it. Anyway, five minutes isn't going to kill anyone.. At the last staff meeting the people who got candy bars seemed pretty happy!! :D

Thanks for the game suggestions. :)
