Someone put a huge bag out on the give away table last month, and I took enough to fill a bowl on my desk. So happy to have more than I could ever need - I think last year I only had 5 or 6. It was awful, and I was too cheap to buy more!

Magnets I had metal white boards (most of them now are metal ) I would get the kind that you put business cards on
I made a "what day is it " Month, day, & year, and day of the week
Colored electrical Tape to divide my white boards
    Duck (duct) Tape
    Clear packing tape
super glue (for my use only)
Popsicle sticks Kids in a can,
10¢ folders (maybe a little more) when a student has a crises and needed a folder
And since I taught Middle school a "girls' kit" with feminine supplies
I would when practicing how to enter the class always find a way to have the girls enter with out the boys and I would tell them "I have 4 daughters so I know what you girls need every once in a while just go to the box marked 'Ribbons' take what you need" I had so many girls (and mothers) telling me "thank you" even the home Ec teacher didn't have a supply, I Put some real girly ribbons on top of the box so the boys would not think of looking there
Safety Pins For a girls blouse or a boys pants
2 electric pencil sharpeners With a supply of pencils (need a pencil? leave your old one) My detention students would sharpen them.

Off topic, but I agree! Chalk dust not only gave me horrible sinus problems, but I got pleurisy...twice :( If you don't know what pleurisy is, imagine having sandpaper on your lungs so they can't move smoothly inside your body....it's painful!
