How much can I expect to make as a sub between the Sacramento and Modesto city school area? It's just I saw at mcs they make up to 146 daily on average. I just want a better idea if possible.

Is it possible for you to contact the local city schools and inquire what their per diem rate is?

This will depend not only on the daily rate of pay but also on availability of jobs and potential competition in terms of size of the sub pool. It's almost impossible for us to answer. Your best bet is to get in touch with someone currently subbing in the area and ask them what they earn.

My first year subbing (many years ago), I taught a grand total of 19 days. My last year, I taught every day but 10. There's just no way to know how much you'll work.

What is offered in pay doesn't mean you will be used routinely. Many teachers have "go to" subs, so hey will not consider a newcomer. Just a thought.

My district is right outside Modesto City Schools. I believe we pay $120/day. There is a tremendous sub shortage in my area (probably due to the low pay for subs).
