I am thinking about doing a bulletin board that says recipe for success or something like that. I think I will have a large recipe card that has the ingredients, such as respect, hard work, etc. I would also like to have class rules or expectations on this board as well. Does anyone have any ideas for how to pull this off? I've never created bulletin boards before so any help is greatly appreciated.

You could put the successes (respect, hard work, etc) on a recipe card, have the class rules on measuring cups, and expectations on cooking utensils.

    BTW: LOVE this idea!

In my head this is what I picture...
A background with a solid color, maybe a red or yellow.
Then the title "recipe for success" in pre printed letters, maybe in white or black.
Then a giant recipe card also made out of butcher paper. I would put it on white. The title of the recipe card could read something like "A great year/ a great class/ or something like that"
    The ingredients could be:
    1 cup of hardwork
    1 cup of respect
1/2 cup of homework on time
    etc...

Am I on the right track? I'm not sure if I am picturing it the way you are!

Ohh STG, I like the utensil idea too!

What about including chef hats somehow? Maybe thats where the title of the BB could go?

Dollar Tree had a bulletin board set last year that you'd be able to really use for some of the items... you might see if you can find that...

Oh future, those are great ideas! Though I would put the recipe on like a light tan butcher paper and make it look like an old recipe. A border of chef hats maybe?

Thanks for all of the ideas. I think you are all thinking along the same lines that I am. I would love for you to come help create this bb.

Or give your students each a recipe card and have them fill out what they thing the recipe for success is. You could post them up on the board with the one created by you in the middle?

I do a 'recipe for friendship' BB in Feb. I have an outline of a kid that is holding a mixing bowl and a mixing spoon with an apron on. It's about 2 feet tall. I colored it and laminated it and use it every year.
