My 5 year old's ESY ended last week so now I have both kids at home until school starts (after Labor Day). Going to attempt to take them with me later this week to start setting up my room, we'll see how that goes  Hoping I can throw a movie up on the projector to keep the little guy occupied for at least a little while.

It's Dec. already! Time flies. We're a tad less than a month away from 2017! I can't wait to shop for a wreath & Christmas tree. I love the smell of pine!

Haven't seen this thread in a while! Today is my last day of school before the break. I have so much to do to get ready for Christmas. I always shop at the last minute :dizzy:

We're still in school until the end of the day on Friday. I still have some shopping and lots of baking to do. Things are proving a little (a lot) more challenging this year with a cast in my broken wrist!

I am with you, TeacherNY. My last day was also Wednesday. The boys didn't give us their lists until just a few days before Christmas so we had some last minute shopping to do. Sweets and I hosted Christmas Day for my family, and suffice it to say even though I was working almost nonstop from Thursday morning on somethings just didn't get done. There were no cookies baked, no pie was made, and more than half of the decorations are still in storage. None of it was missed, though.

I've been working on school stuff for 12 hours today and it's the most productive I've been in weeks. School was cancelled today for an ice storm that doesn't hit until tonight/tomorrow, but I spent 5 hours cleaning my classroom and printing stuff off, and another 1.5hr reorganizing my binder for guided reading, and another hour planning reading groups. I'm hoping the productivity lasts through the night because I need to plan everything else for next week, but today was awesome.

The weather was so nice today, I had to get out of the house. Went to give my Mom an Easter card since I may not see her on Easter (but probably the week after), got a rotisserie chicken, & some Chinese food (mostly chicken & veggies).

I'm rather excited. Yesterday we went apartment shopping in the city. It will be my first time living in an actual city. We didn't expect to actually choose anything yet, but we walked into one, and we were both like "let's sign up now."

It's literally NEXT DOOR to where I'll be taking the bulk if not all of my classes, and it's just one block away from where my partner works, so we'll both be commuting by walking for a few years, and I can simply walk to his place and we can have lunch together whenever we want (which has never happened since we started dating 7 years ago).

The apartment is beautiful and has a view of the mountain and the river and the city all at once, and is in walking distance to the riverside, and is right next to two modes of public transportation. I'm most excited about the kitchen which is luxurious compared to our current closet of a kitchen. (I like to cook)

I'm now totally counting the days until the end of the year, and I'm moving right after the school year ends.

I did things similarly to you Peregrin. I moved into my apt in very early June to have all summer to get settled in. Since we're on this topic, my lease is up for renewal. I can't believe how much they're increasing it this year! I knew it would be a lot, but it's even more than I thought...$120 more a month!!! So I either agree to it or move out. I guess I'll probably live here another year, but I'll be working on trying to get out of here after that.

Just got the rings this week. I worked with a jeweler in NZ to custom design them.

I don't really know how I'm going to propose yet. I'm thinking a hike in the forest might be best. Neither of us would appreciate the attention proposing in a public place would get. Any ideas? I pretty much have zero romantic bones in my body. The thought of kneeling down and doing a sappy proposal thing slightly makes me shudder, but I will do it for him if I have to.

A hike sounds completely romantic. Its not (in my opinion) about a show or how it looks, its about a mutual decision to share your lives. You are opening this discussion, not putting on a performance. And maybe the discussion is just a simple question, with a simple answer. Joyful sigh!

I proposed this weekend, and he said yes (I already knew he would though, because he kept asking me when I would propose)! I ended up asking at the beach while we had a picnic. We don't want a big wedding, and will probably just do something small with a few friends in a park.

Why didn't he propose? Then it would have been more of a surprise LOL
