Then search the state website for additional references to that scale, or email PA's teacher certification authority for clarification. There should be a Contact Us link of some sort. Alternatively, you can wait for your official score report: one of the reasons that official reports aren't issued immediately is precisely so that information related to compensatory scoring can be incorporated.

Hi---I believe if you are still currently a student in an education program in a college or university in Pennsylvania, the GPA is utilized. However, if you already have an Instructional I or Instructional II certificate, it no longer applies. You must pass the test with the qualifying score. I'm a former Pennsylvania School Superintendent--not that that means anything but it is what I think I recall a few years ago that that was what happened.

This thread seems to be fairly active, so here's my question: I took the Elementary Education (k-6) PLT two weeks ago. Should I have received my raw scores at the end? I literally didn't get any feedback like I did after my Elementary Education CIA test (showed raw scores and a 174).

Help! Just took Praxis 5354 (Special Education) and at the end saw the score 189 but the separate category scores were 13, 20, 21, 17, 21. Obviously those don't add up to 189 so I'm confused. Any way to know if I go at least a 151 (the minimum score I need in my state) at this point?

That's your unofficial score. Congrats. You passed.

I just took my Praxis Test 5354 today. At the end when I went to report my score, the number 169 came up on the screen. I need a 151 to pass in my state. Can someone help me understand just what this 169 means or if I just need to wait untill I get my official score?

I don't remember 5354 offhand, but I suspect that was an unofficial scaled score. Keep us in the loop, please, Athena2010.

It's possible that what you're describing is a raw score, but I'm afraid what you're describing sounds more like an unofficial scaled score, in which case those points are already factored in. Hugs to your friend.

There ARE Praxis exams with more than 100 raw points available, but there aren't all that many, and I don't know if there are any with more than 100 raw points in a single domain. If what showed onscreen was a single score between 100 and 200 and slightly less than passing... well, I won't say there's no chance of passing, but I'd say it's vanishingly small.

I suppose it isn't impossible, but I haven't heard of it happening.

Has anyone ever heard of an unofficial Praxis score changing?

A scaled score? Almost never, in the absence of a compelling reason (such as testing irregularities) that it should change.

You're welcome. Did you come up barely short, or are you hoping the unofficial score you saw will stand?
