Of course our first day from winter break was today. And in the theater guild, we have to hit the ground running. We're hosting a competition the third weekend in March and we've got a lot of work to do to get a whole play done. I was explaining various aspects of this to the theater kids, and I made the comment that it would be our last production together.

One of the juniors goes "Yeah, the seniors are leaving!" I told them that the seniors weren't the only ones leaving at the end of the year. It took a few minutes, but you could see the visible change in the group standing on the stage once it clicked. Naturally they wanted to know where I was going and why. After I explained that it was a promotion and everything, they were all very excited and happy for me, if a bit upset too.

One of my sophomores goes "Well that just means we have to make this the best one yet!" They're a great group of kids, and I'm so happy that one of my coworkers is going to take over. She's one of our English teachers who started this year. I love her energy, she brings something unique to the table and I think my stage and my students will be in great hands with her.

And so it begins. My last semester in this district.

I think no matter where you go that you will positively impact the lives of many students.

Remember, when one door closes another door opens.

Aw thanks. That's why it's "sweet sorrow". But of course that is one of my favorite quotes and it seems fitting.

Sounds like there was a lot of love in that room. Wonderful that you've helped curate that.

Does the theater guild perform for the public? Maybe you can see their future performances. I'm sure they would love for you to attend!
