I am writing some objectives currently for a particular segment of Biology and downloaded the detailed version of NGSS. Under the standard there is an “Assessment Boundary” statement. For instance, for HS-LS3-3, it states that assessment does not include Hardy-Weinberg calculations. I had full intent of teaching about Hardy-Weinberg. Am I supposed to refrain from that, or is this simply stating I do not have to go that far as students will not be tested on it?

I am not so sure that there are many science teachers on this forum. Facebook has several NGSS groups depending on what content area you teach within science. You can try asking there. For my content area, the NGSS Physical Science group has been immensely helpful in answering my questions and trading ideas / resources.

It is simply saying the kids wont have to do the calculations on the test. You can still include them as a part of what you are teaching though.
