Next year we are tweeking our preschool special education program to include "typically developing peers" (normal preschoolers). I want a cute catchy name. I had the "RISE" program picked out until it was brought to my attention that is was the name of another BIGGER program and I really want something unique. I had RISE standing for Reaching Individuals Seeking Education.

Here is some info on the school.

School colors: rainbow (our school service our whole county with the preschool, moderate - severe MR and the severe behavior problem kids so the rainbow represents all of the schools' colors.)

School emblem: hot air balloon (done in rainbow colors)

    Motto: Soaring to New Heights.

BUT I am up for any ideas to give to the board.

    I've thought of:
    The RAINBOW Preschool Program
    The SOAR program
& The HEROES Program. (I know hero has nothing to do with rainbows, etc. but I'm just trying to find something that would work system wide if we have to expand out program to other schools in the county.

I don't have a meaning for RAINBOW, SOAR or HEROES yet.

Sooooooooooo anyone got any ideas for acronyms and what they stand for to go with a preschool inclusion program??

    THANKS!!
    Lori

    Bright Beginnings
A rainbow is bright and colorful, and it describes what these kiddos will be a part of. You could use a sunrise with a hot air balloon floating across it as a logo.

Umm....New Heights? YOu want all kids (regardless of developmental stage) to soar and reach new heights.

I didn't read it as if they should all soar to one equal new height; just that each child would reach new (for them) heights.

I didn't mean it that way either. I meant that no matter what developmental stage each kid is in, they will reach new heights (for them).

Is Lori only looking for Acronyms? Maybe I misunderstood.

I'm looking for anything... It doesn't have to be an acronym... just any kind of cute name that makes a statement about our program! :)

I like the Bright Beginnings... CUTE!

I also like what RACE stands for.

    STARS is great, too.

KEEP THEM COMING. I'm going to write them all down and give them to my director and coordinator.

Be careful with race. It has a race (as in racial) perception too, especially doubling it with what it stands for. It's cute though!
