By the end of the year, another stapler is in the trashcan.
I'm not hard on my staplers at all.
I'm willing to pay a good deal more if the stapler will last several years.

    Can anyone recommend one?

This is like the stapler that I use. I've used it all year and it is still in good condition. I like it a lot because I have to staple into the wall a lot and it works like a staple gun but uses regular staples.

I use this one, too. I had 2 smaller ones like it, but they didn't last more than 2 years. I have 2 like this and love them!

I have that one too, but I got a lime green one. That way when my students have it, I throw a fit. They know better than to use that one. They have to use the cheap one. lol

I love the Staples One Touch. I got it in a bright yellow so I could always locate it easily. It staples so much easier on BBs than others.

I have also had a very difficult time with staples. I bought the Staples One Touch and it works very well. I haven't had any problems with it at all and it was less than $15

I had two Staples one touches that I had bought five years ago. I gave one to my old teaching partner because she was always borrowing mine anyway :) Well, I dropped my one remaining one and it broke...I can still use it to do bulletin boards, just not for stapling papers together. On Friday I went to Staples to try and find another one. The newer ones are a little different than the ones I bought years ago, but they still ROCK! Love them :)

I bought myself a red Swingline (like the one in Office Space). It is sturdy and works well, and it's hard to lose. Plus I told my students to leave it alone.

I have a Staples One Touch Stapler too. LOVE it! I had a standard gray or black one... and went back and got bright purple so I could locate it easier. The black one is now at the writing supplies table for student use. That one NEVER jams. (which is more than I can say for the 2 that landed in the trash can by the end of the year from other places)
