Many students have a hard time remembering certain multiplication facts. I've read many multiplication rhymes online, but they're too long. I was hoping someone on here could help come up with some. This is what the head math teacher at my school has come up with that I can remember. My 3 cats eat 3 meals, but they only eat 9 lives. At 8 o'clock I played 8 games on my Nintendo 64. You can't drive a 4 by 4 until you're 16. 6 and 8 were late, they ran to gate 48. Anyone know of any others? Feel free to steal these, by the way. :2up:

A 4 x 4 is a big machine I'm going to get one when I'm sixteen. 6 asked 8 for a date...6x8 =48 A tree on skates fell on the floor 3 x 8 = 64 1,2,3,4 1,2 (twelve) is 3 x 4 5,6,7,8 56=7x8 He stood in line and ate a ton 9 x 9 = 81 8 x 8 = 64 close your mouth and shut the door 7 x 6 = 42 Pull up your socks and tie your shoes Fido, fido do those tricks, 7 x 8 = 56 Roses are red, violets are blue 9 x 8 = 72 9 x 7 = 63 Here comes a big fat bumblebee! ...some of them don't work for me.....but they may help your students. OUr math teacher made students fill in a multiplication chart EVERY day with their bell work. By state test time, they all knew how to do it themselves if they needed it. They are allowed to draw the multiplication chart and fill it in or write their facts out on our state test.

I like the multiplication chart for bell work. I might make them do that every tues/thurs instead of every day Could be a BIG help on state tests

i've heard... 4x4 is a mean machine i'm going to drive one when i'm 16 other than that...haven't heard any. LC

I posted about this once: http://learnmegood2.blogspot.com/2006/12/multiplications-greatest-hits.html Not sure how viable any of those REALLY are...

My 3rd grade class's favorite: 8x8 is 64, kick the teacher out the door Otherwise, we used songs for the 3's and 4's facts. We would practice them when we were lining up for specials or lunch.
