Was interested to see what songs everyone uses for their morning circle time. I am trying to switch songs frequently and wanted to see others opinions on songs. This would include good morning songs. We do Rise and Shine quite frequently. Also, what are some really good movement songs that you use?

I know there are color songs that are out there. You could pick one color per day and sing the song then have students find things around the room that is that color. Maybe weather songs also? A movement song that I've done was from a CD but had students counting 1-10 and each number was a different movement. Like clap hands 4 times, stomp feet 10 times, etc.

I recall from student teaching in Kindergarten, Hap Palmer recordings have excellent activity songs-- (I was surprised these are still available; although now they're on CD's instead of phonograph records!) Also Raffi Cavoukian (singer of Baby Beluga). Another resource can be songs from old 78 RPM records (not that I'm that old!!!), but there are a lot of novelty songs from that period of history that are excellent for classroom use.

Yes, I would try to find some Raffi songs. They're great.
