There's a book called The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins it's about someone who baked cookies, then more and more people keep coming over to the house, so they keep having to divide the cookies. I read this book to my class and gave them counters to use, so as we read, they figured out how to divide the cookies equally. Then I made a follow up sheet that I called THe DOorbell Rang Again, and made up virtually a new story, with different numbers for division problems for them to solve with counters. After this lesson they really got the idea of division (a conceptual understanding).

Here's one that I've heard of it.

    It's for teaching time.
To the tune of Are you Sleeping?
    What time is it?
    What time is it.
    It's ______(say time)
    It's ______ (say time)
    Big hand on the ___(#).
    Little hand on the ___(#).
    It's ____(say time).

    Hope this is helpful.

Here are some sites and some songs (long list)

These are sites and songs I've collected over the years. I don't know who the originators of most of these ideas are, so if someone happens to see his/her idea here, go ahead and proudly claim it! :D

    **Clock Song--- for telling time

The hands on the clock go round and round,
Round and round, round and round.
The hands on the clock go round and round.
    To tell us the time.

The short hand on the clock
    Goes from number to number,
Number to number, number to number.
The short hand on the clock
    Goes from number to number.
    To tell us the time.

The long hand on the clock
    Goes around by fives,
Around by fives, around by fives.
The long hand on the clock
    Goes around by fives.
    To tell us the minutes.
