    retirement cake

Our librarian is retiring after 42 years of teaching. :wow: I am in charge of getting the cake for her retirement tea. The cake is going to be an open book sitting on top of a sheet cake. They are going to write Happy Retirement or Congratulations on the sheet cake. I need ideas to write on the book. All of my creativity left me about March, so I need your help!

    For the book. . .

Below are just a few quotes I found about books or reading that might be appropriate.

The man who doesn't read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them.
    - Mark Twain

    Books to the ceiling,
    Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.
    - Arnold Lobel

Books, I found, had the power to make time stand still, retreat or fly into the future.
    -Jim Bishop, A Bishop's Confession, 1981

People say that life is the thing, but I prefer reading.
    -Logan Pearsall Smith,

What about thanks for sharing many chapters of your life here.
Or put something like Chapter 42 Retirement then Congratulations or Thank you or something on the other side.

Age [and retirement] appear to be best in four things — old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors
    to read.
