    Hi everyone,
As the end of the school year approaches, I need to start planning ouy Moving-Up ceremony. It's my first time teaching so I have never planned a moving-up ceremony. Does anyone know of good song to sing with the children. Songs about moving up, going to first grade. Does anyone know any song in Spanish under the same category. I will appreciate your help. Thank you!!

This was in a songbook I used:
To the tune of Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Move me up to the first grade
    I have worked very hard
I know my letters and numbers, too
I follow directions and tie my own shoes
So please move me up to the first grade
I want to learn even more
So it's time I'm moving along
    Let first grade begin

Are all your students going to first grade? My K celebration isn't going to say anything about first grade because I have one student that will be staying in K.

That is great. I love the song that is in tune to the Adam's Family

    1. The Kindergarten Class (to the tune of "The Adams Family")
    a. Refrain: Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)
    Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)
    Da-da-da-dah
    Da-da-da-dah
    Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)
    b. We learned our ABCs
    And counting one, two, threes,
And now we know all these.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS
    c. And we learned how to share.
And we learned how to care.
Just ask us if you dare.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS
    d. Refrain)It seems we’ve just begun
    And now it’s almost done.
This year’s been so much fun.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS

    this one is cute too
. First Grade, First Grade (to the tune of "New York, New York)
    a. Start spreading the news.
    We’re leaving today.
We want to be a part of it,
    First grade, first grade.
    b. We’re ready to go.
    We’ve worked very hard.
We’re gonna be a part of it,
    First grade, first grade.
    c. We know our ABCs
    And our 123s so welll.
We’ve worked at sounding out words
    And stories to tell.
    d. Just ask us to rhyme.
    We’ll say "tens" and "pens."
We’ve learned to share and get along
    With all our friends.
    e. So now we’ve made it there.
    We’ll make it anywhere.
    We’re on our way,
    First grade, first grade!

Cute songs! I love them! I might be teaching kindergarten in the fall and I'll be in the same position next year so it's good to start looking early. In the kindergarten class I subbed for, they learned the recite the book "The Twelve Days of Kindergarten." It was to the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas. It was really cute. They also had to each stand up and tell the audience what they want to be when they grow up. Very Cute!!!
