Does anyone have any good ideas for a soap dispenser (or a brand of refillable store-brand pumps) that are mostly kid-prooof? I just moved into a new art room with brand-new sinks and I'd like to keep things as nice as possible. I would love a pump that also gives only a dime sized amount of soap for each whole pump.

I've only had a room my first year teaching and then I was using these Dial-brand soaps because I got a bunch of them very cheap from BJ's. They were pretty awful if I remember correctly - the pumps broke on them before the soap was ever out. And that was with me doing all the soap pumping for the 1st and K's.

I'd like to keep it fairly cheap but if it's a durable reusable pump, I'd be willing to pay up to $20.

We have the Lysol no-touch soap dispensers at home and they work very well. They are refillable if you take a screwdriver to pry the cover off the soap cartridge (we have done this 2 times with one and once with the other and both still work fine).

If you do get those pump soaps I was reading that you can put an elastic band around the pump so it only goes half-way down and then you get the perfect amount of soap without all that extra. Never tried it myself, but it might be worth it.

I love using the foam soap bottles from Bath and Body Works. I buy it for myself and bring the empty bottles to school. I just fill it with liquid Ivory soap (about 15 pumps) and fill the rest of the bottle with water and then give it a big shake. You can fill it with any soap but I think I heard that soap with moisturizer should not be used.
