I have a few questions. Thank you!
Pasco County is fairly specific; teachers may be uncomfortable identifying themselves on a public forum like that. Do you have any more general questions that those of us outside the county may be able to answer?
I understand, thank you for the observation.
It is my understanding that in that County you are hired for the School Year, but I wanted to know if it is possible to get your salary yearly instead. I have a friend in another county that mentioned they are allowed to do that.
I also don't know how it works during the breaks. Do teachers get paid during winter break, Spring break, things like that?
The first two links look like the ones you'd want to check out. Assuming I'm reading this right, you either get a summer payoff at the end of May, or get paid every two weeks throughout the year, and you'll still get a normal paycheck during breaks and everything.
Generally, all teachers will get normal paychecks even during break periods... the summer thing Pasco has is different though, never seen anything quite like that before.
Thank you! That was really helpful.
Does Pasco still have the "pods" in elementary schools? I had to do an internship in Pasco, and I loved the kids, but was not crazy about the huge, open classrooms.
