I had my friend over yesterday and she told me her mom (one of my references) got a call from the Super! :D I'm not going to celebrate right now as it could me anything, like they're trying to knock out candidates, but it's definitely a good sign.
I should know by next Thursday/ Friday because they plan to announce the candidate at their board meeting and he said he'd call either way. I kind of wish he'd only call if I got the job because it's a huge bummer to pick up the phone, all excited, for them to say ''Sorry, but..."
It would be a great little part time gig, because it would provide some money (with benefits) and be the exact right position for me while I finish my reading program. I could literally learn the material at night in class and then practice during the day. It's PERFECT!
    ...here's to hoping...

Me too! I would work between two schools, the public and a private Catholic school, so I'm building relationships in two places. And my day would end at 1:00pm (since it's part time) which is plenty of time for me to do classwork and get to class not feeling exhausted.
    :D

The more you describe it, the more it sounds like a job very few would want. Hopefully that works in your favor.

HAHA hey I'll take it. If I get the job solely out of their desperate I'm ok with and welcome it.

It really is the perfect gig for working graduate students.

The interview was Friday at 4pm. Got the rejection email today :( Any word on your screener yet? I have one this evening, but I am unsure which grade they are hiring for (the vacancy notice says TBD), and I am only qualified to teach up to 3rd, so I'm hoping its not a waste of time! Its a phone interview so at least I dont have to get all dressed up :p

Interviews are never a waste, consider them all practice.

I agree that they are all practice - except in this case. It ended up being a waste of time because there was no interview. It was for a 4th grade position, so he called me to tell me he would not be interviewing me. Granted it was only a few minutes, it still was a waste of time for him to make the call.

Well the alternative is that he doesn't call you, and you are left wondering why you were never called.
