Went on an interview this morning and totally bombed it. Couldn't even begin to answer some of Principal's questions. Called my husband to cry and 1/2 hour later the Principal called me to offer me the job. Im still in shock and waiting for her next call to tell me that she made a horrible mistake. Until then, I will be starting work on Monday as an elementary school teacher!!!!

    Awesome!

Obviously you didnanswer the questions! I wouldn't wait by the phone waiting for the "mistake" call.

    Congratulations!!!

It goes to show: they're looking for the right PERSON, not the textbook ANSWERS. Obviously, you're the right person.

I'd love some suggestions. I've had the opposite happen to me quite often--interviews that go well and never hearing again.

    Any advice?

Actually I had been on over a dozen interviews. Some of them I thought I had done well on and really clicked with the interviewers. Nonetheless, up until yesterday, I always received the same old automated email (indicating the job had been filled by someone else) or a phone call from the Principal indicating I was a strong candidate but they nonetheless chose someone with more teaching experience.

The Principal who hired me basically said that the competition was strong but that my personality, enthusiasm and energy stood out. She thought this would compensate for my lack of teaching experience.
