Hey ya'll! Some of you might remember me from this past summer when I was getting ready to start my student teaching. This board was so awesome and answered questions that I didn't even know that I had. Student teaching went great and was the best experience I could of possibly asked for! I put applications in everywhere and attended the job fair through my University before I graduated. I was realistic in the fact that finding a job mid-year in my content area (FCS) would be slim to none but I was hopeful. I had one interview before I graduated but I didn't feel it went really well. I didn't get that job but I kept upbeat, reflected on how it went, and was ready for my next interview... which ended up being the day before I graduated. I wasn't thinking I would get hired and figured I would use the second semester to gain interview experience for the new school year. At my second interview I actually got the job! I have been a "long term sub" technically since after the Christmas break (I still needed to take my content exam)! My meeting with the Principal today was unexpected and I am happy to say that they are putting in the paperwork for me to be officially hired as a teacher!!! Ya'll, that light at the end of the tunnel is finally in sight and I'm beyond excited! Starting as a non-traditional older college student to finally becoming an official teacher has been a long journey and I can't believe that I've finally did it. I just wanted to share since I learned so much about what I was getting myself into from this board. Thanks for everything ya'll!
