Thanks, C&G. I've heard that phrase many times, but never knew what it meant.
Alright, well, if you guys have an open bar can I supply Pepsi or something??

They usually sell soda too for the mixed drinks but I wouldn't want to pay their prices. No drinks absolutely necessary in my book. I'd rather do a dozen other things.

CNG _ I have never head of an open bar as you described, is that what they do at most weddings around you? Here it means that all drinks are free, usually referring to a more formal party or wedding in contrast to a cash bar or BYOB

    From MSN Encarta -

Open Bar - free drinks served at social function: a bar at a party, wedding, or other social function where the drinks are served free of charge

Cash Bar - bar selling drinks at social function: a bar at a large party or reception at which drinks have to be paid for individually

    From Wikipedia:
BYOB is an acronym most commonly meant to stand for "bring your own beer", "bring your own bottle", "bring your own beverage" or "bring your own booze". The term "booze" is slang for alcoholic drinks.

I stand corrected. My husband does all the "going to get the stuff" part. I thought I had it right though.

Oh boy, I sound like a lush, I should clarify! :)

I'm not a drinker either, I was just joking an open bar would be helpful for some of the more shy AZers.

I love the ida of a cruise! I wish we were all rich enough to make it a reality. I'd vote for a European cruise.

    LOL! Me too!
    SUV's are the worse!

I'd come; depending on the location and my funds :)

I'm really a shy person and do better one-on-one conversations, but I'd give it a go!

I get motion sickness too! And if I haven't eaten it is worse. I even get it when I am driving.

that's what I thought... I went to a school district Xmas party last year. When they said the bar is open, half the building flew over there...

I knew it had to be free...

Count me in. Of course, I would probably change my name..and nobody would know it was really me. :p

I vote for Chicago of course! We already have our own sub forum... CPS Teachers Unite Here. We could make a sub forum... suburban teachers over here! Maybe some of us can meet this January at the NAEYC conference!

Call it a professional development workshop, so we can get the day off with pay, and go for free!

    Wait.. I can't resist...

Can we have it in Alaska? I want to know if you really can see Russia from there! :D
