My husband is returning from his deployment, so I'm needing some sub plans for my class for one day :) The problem is that I don't use a basal, and I haven't had the kids long enough to have them "trained" to read quietly for a sub for 30-45 minutes at a time. I teach 5th/6th grade reading and writing in reading and writing workshop format. I would like to do something that is at least somewhat meaningful and not just 'busy' work while I'm gone. Our subs are just by the luck of the draw kind of thing, so I can't leave expectations for them to actually teach a lesson! Any ideas? I googled reading workshop sub plans and came up pretty empty handed! Hoping some of ya'll have some great suggestions like usual! TIA
