Hey gang! If we have anybody in the path of the hurricane, please stay safe and keep us posted to let us know you're okay!

I'll be praying for those in the hurricane's path, but I don't expect anyone to check-in with me (us) because you will have way too much on your plate to be expected to soothe my concern. I wish you all well.

I'm right in the path. They have cancelled school for the rest of the week. We are expected to get 15+ inches of rain, and the ground is already saturated. Here's hoping for the best!

    Hope everyone else stays safe.

In prayer, also. Some advice I heard on NOAA's weather radio a few days ago, for those even outside of the storm's path, if the ground is saturated with water, be cautious around trees in even 30 MPH winds, as that could be enough to topple a tree. (This will be the danger in my neck of the woods, due to Gordon and the expected 3-4 inches from outside of Florence's path).

Meanwhile I should update this to let you all know I'm perfectly safe. There's been some gas explosions a bit NE of me.

I'm in Massachusetts, Upsadaisy, just West of Boston (but we're still considered part of the suburbs of Boston). There were several gas explosions just North of us in Lawrence and North Andover. Which they're only about twenty minutes from where I'm located. There's been a lot of fires, evacuations, and gas bleeding until they can get the excess under control.

I saw that news yesterday and today. How awful. And nobody else knows if they are safe if they haven't isolated the cause of the gas 'leaks'. My sister used to live just outside of Boston in Somerville and I visited her. Boston is such fun place to visit.

Well, after 20+ hours of no power, the power came back on. I've never been so happy to eat a bowl of hot ravioli in my life!

The ground is saturated, and they say to expect 5-10 inches more of rain. But so far, so good.

I'm glad you are ok, but that 20 hours must have been brutal. Stay safe.

Happy to hear you're safe. I think the power going out is the worst part of any storm. My brother in NC said they've lost power and they're absolutely climbing the walls.
