I know it is easy to do but when I went on the internet there were many different recipes for making homemade applesauce. I live by many apple orchards and we just went apple picking. Now what to do with all these apples???? Apple sauce, of course! So does anyone have any really good tried and true recipes for making it. Or how about any other recipes for me to use all these apples with!:thanks:

I just put a little water in the bottom of a pot.
Throw in the apples (with the peels off and the cores cut out).
Put it on a low-heat stove. Stir. The apples will fall apart as they cook.
Add sugar, as needed. It will depend on how sweet your apples are.
You can add cinnamon or candy "red hots" if you like.

I did in a crockpot with my class last week for Johnny Appleseed. 23 apples cut on one of those apple peeler/corer/slicer machines - pretty thin slices. The kids chopped with a plastic knoife just a bit more. One drink cup of water, about 1/2 c. sugar, some cinnamon. Cooked on high on crockpot for about 3 hours. Put whole pot in fridge, mashed it a bit with a potato masher and ate the next day.

I use apple juice instead of water. I also use cinnamon, sugar, and I don't cook anything without butter. If I am in a festive mood, I might add red hots. Instead of butter and cinnamon, and sugar.
