I'm making up some folders of activities for my students to do when they are finished with work sometimes. They have worksheet type papers in them that are in sheet protectors so the students can use a dry erase marker.

I want to call them something simple and fun.

I've thought of "What Next?" folders, but I'm not entirely sold on it. Brainstorm with me, please!

(Or maybe you already use something like this and have a great name for them.)

Do you have a theme? Could you call them something to go with that?

What about initials like W.O.W. folders (Working On Wonderful)?
You could talk about how you want your class to be the best and so it's great for everyone to practice.

My basket of extra papers and fun things and I have a big sign on the front that says "FAST FINISHERS." I have a lot of teachers at my school who like it and have decided to use it! You are more than welcome!

sevenplus--I like your idea of putting these papers in sleeves. Is it a special kind that the dry erase work on?

I put a bunch of activities together and put them all in the "Challenge Box" for the students to work on when they are finished with other things. The students like to know they are working on something challenging.

MissFroggy- I do too. But this thread got me thinking about jazzing it up a bit this year. Who knows?

Your Choice and then have the folders sorted by subject: math, LA, writing, spelling, etc.

 I call my Transition Folders. How boring is THAT?!

On a side note, what do you guys do when the kids want to know if the work in the folder is for a grade?? I had some kids who barely got one sheet done a week because they took longer doing their in class assignments, and then some who could do 10+ pages extra a week! I thought about counting them as extra credit, but the kids who did them didn't really need extra credit like the ones who only got a few done...So what do you do about grading/not grading folder work?
