Silly question, but I was wondering, do fourth graders get to use a calculator on the math portion of the FCAT?

    Thanks!

No calculators allowed in elementary school.

In Louisiana students can use calculators on parts of the standardized tests, and there are parts they must do without calculators.

I know it's either yes or no for the entire test. I've suffered a lifetime of FCAT testing; however, it was so long ago I can't remember when I had a calculator and when I didn't.

I'm tutoring a 4th grader and she said her teacher did not specify whether they would be provided a calculator or not. Her 5th grade brother informed me he took the math portion of the FCAT yesterday and did not have a calculator.

For some reason I too am thinking that the elementary grades don't get a calculator either...

My understanding is only 10th grade uses them. No elementary though.

On the standardized test, some Michigan schools have to rely on the calculator as they do not teach times tables after the 3rd grade.
