Favorite type of Pizza.

    What do you all think is the best type of pizza? I usually get the off brand margarita pizza with thin crust. Love the thin crust pizzas. And a good glass of Pinot Grigio or Chianti goes very well with it.

    I like different kinds of pizza. I prefer thin crust with pepperoni and mushrooms. My DH makes a great deep-dish pizza with onions, pepperoni, and mushrooms. I sometimes make pizza with flour tortilla crust, three kinds of cheese, pepperoni, and mushrooms.

    I'm very biased living in NYC. Our pizza is the best here. If a place here can make a great plain slice that's usually how I judge good pizza. Trust me some places do suck at making pizza here, but that's far a few. In order my top 3 favorite kinds of pizza:

    Plain Cheese
    Penne alla Vodka
    Chicken Bacon Ranch

    Flour tortilla is excellent! My dad makes it's this way when I come to visit family.

    What is Penne alla Vodka? It sounds good! Never have heard of it but curious to what it consist of.

    It's basically the dish itself baked on top of the pizza. Pizza shops around here tend to get very creative. I've seen Ravioli pizza, Taco Pizza, Chicken Cesar Salad Pizza, Lasagna Pizza. So much more than your typical pepperoni.

    I make a from scratch wheat crust and use the pizza sauce I can every summer with our homegrown tomatoes. We either have turkey pepperoni or hamburger or just cheese.

    Sounds scrumptious! Homegrown tomatoes!! I'm from the south in Texas and lived north of Dallas for close to 20 years, now in Colorado. But love stuff from the garden. That sounds healthy and good at the same time.

    LOTS of sauce, minimal cheese, and tomatoes and mushrooms!
    When I make pizza at home, I pre-bake the crust for a few minutes so that the extra sauce I put on doesn't leave the crust mushy.

    Don't judge me but I truly love the 99 cent pizza by the slice in NYC. Not for the price but the taste.

    Penne alla vodka is a pasta dish of penne tossed in a pink sauce of cream, marinara, spices and vodka.
    Some pizza places top pizza with this.

    I'm simplistic - Margareta pie is my go to. Acquired a taste for it in Italy. That said, I am good with Italian sausage/pepperoni/mushrooms from my favorite place. I sometimes get hungry for a deep dish pie, but hubby doesn't like it, so few and far between.

    It doesn't get any better than authentic Italian pizza. I'm not in NYC but we have a small pizzeria in our college town that was founded and run by an Italian family. It's seriously the BEST pizza and puts others to shame. I'm a fan of just the traditional pepperoni, sausage and cheese. Why mess with a good thing?

    I tend to favor a very meaty selection of toppings (excepting anchovies.) Not a fan of peppers or onions on pizza because every time I've had them, they've overpowered the rest of the pizza. There's a lovely pizza place near my college that makes excellent pizza, and uses a lot of organic and locally grown and raised ingredients.

    Ah, one of my fave foods! :D I'll take a good hand-tossed, supreme pizza on most days.
    If I only have 2 toppings to choose from, I'll get mushroom & ham.

    Regarding the pizza places, I LOVE Round Table's chicken & garlic gourmet pizza!!
    Also, Numero Uno's Slaughterhouse 5, which is pretty much supreme toppings.

    Regarding frozen, grocery store brands, I'll take DiGiorno Pizzeria's supreme special OR tuscan chicken. Sometimes I'll get CPK of a few various topping types.

    I'll eat any pizzeria pizza or homemade but not frozen. I could literally eat it for 3 meals a day :) I love all sorts of toppings unless it's something like anchovies. I had a BBQ chicken pizza last week that was really good!

    Last nigh DIL and I got white pie with broccoli and the hubs and son got buffalo checken pizza
