I was an aide at a public school but got laid off in May due to a reduction in force (too many aides and I wasn't needed for this school year). The principal said it had nothing to do with my performance. He even asked me to do back to back maternity leaves one year and gave me excellent observation reports. An autism teacher position at this school just opened up and I applied (a little past the expiration date)and called the director of Human Resources to let them know I'm interested etc. I know they offered the position to someone but they didn't accept it and I know they interviewed someone on Tuesday but the board minutes just came out and no one was appointed the job. Should I email the principal to request an interview?
