Hello! It has been a few years since I was last here. I have been in education for 13 years, I taught for 7 years then became an assistant principal at a private school. I have just interviewed for an ELA position at a middle school, and they've done a reference check. My friend who works at the school, tells me that she believes I did get the position, but the district has closed for the summer, they will reopen next Monday. This would be my first public school job, and I am terrified of moving from a private school working in administration to a public school and going back to teaching. I know that in Texas the standards have changed for the upcoming school year. Does anyone have any advice on how to read the new TEKS?

I honestly feel I forgot how to TEACH!

Look at the side by side on the Lead4ward site. It’s easier to read than the side by side from TEA.

There are also some videos on YouTube where the TEKS are taken apart.
