Dressing up as a Book Character

    So I found out today that we have a Storybook Parade tomorrow! I need some help deciding on a character. Keep in mind that I probably will have to use what is in my very limited closet. I can't think!!! Please :help:

    Do you have a headband and some pipe cleaners? You could go as the very hungry catepillar.

    Jeremy Jacon from The Day I became a Pirate. Khaki shorts or pants, striped shirt, bandana on your head and a brown belt. Easy enough!

    Do you have a red coat or house coat--you could be Little Red Riding Hood.

    Or just dress really tacky and be one of the Herdmans from The Best (or Greatest) Christmas Pageant. I always forget the title.

    OMG!!! I love this book so, so much! The first time I read it, I was laughing so hard I had tears coming down.

    These ideas are great! I was going through all of my clothing and I found some khaki colored overalls... any ideas as to how i can use them. Thoughts...

    I would still love other book character ideas. Thanks to those who have posted!

    I was perusing costume shops... what do you guys think of this? Wearing all black and a red ribbon as a bow tie for Cat in the Hat. I would have to make a white and red striped top hat but I'm pretty sure i could do it out of paper tomorrow morning before the kids show up.

    ...and THAT'S the difference between an elementary teacher and me!:lol::lol::lol: I could NEVER make a hat out of paper in the morning before the kids show up! You are awesome.

    I think the Cat in the Hat sounds cute. Good luck and have a great time!

    You could always dress as a third grade and go as Hank Zipzer's sister Emily. Just plop a TY beanie baby iguana on your shoulder and call her Katherine.
